What began as a means to pay off debt from a master’s degree in education, evolved into something more! I’m excited for what is ahead...outside of the classroom.

Welcome!

Hi! My name is Katherine Green, I am an elementary school teacher with a passion for home decor. Mixing old and new is my favorite way to style a home. It creates the collected look that makes a home feel like it is your space.

I learned from my mom. She was always adding to and changing decor in our house. My sister is the same way…so I am going with genetics + environment created the home decor obsession.

My close friend hired an interior designer to do her house. It turned out beautifully. It was collected. She mentioned pieces the designer found at thrift stores and antique stores. It all clicked in that moment. Big box shopping is not the way to a beautiful home.

My mom is also a treasure hunter. We went to huge outdoor antique market in the mid-90’s in Alpharetta, GA. There were so many treasures at that market. We used what we found to style a powder room. The beauty of purchasing antiques and vintage decor is they are timeless. Two pieces we bought that day are now part of my home decor…30 years later.

I was the only 17 year kid I knew who stopped at the local antique mall to shop. There was something about being with old stuff that spoke to me. I wanted a little chair so badly for my room. It is black with cane seating. I saved up and bought it. Currently, it lives in my mother’s living room. Still in perfect antique condition.

This is how a Vintage Home came to be…my house is small and collected. Now my mom and I take great pleasure in curating pieces for others.
